Life Support

"Life Support" is a swollen field of pink lycra, its surface pushed into a cluster of mammary bulbs, each tipped with a clear silicone port. Red wire arteries splay across the body, threaded with teal medical tubing, knotting at the seams where tufts of fur push through. IV bags hang from chains at either side, feeding it, though the apparatus is becoming a creature — kept alive by itself as it grows, a recursive organism. Both maternal and clinical, it's a monstrous, tender violence — a wet, emergent body sustained by a machine that has become part of its flesh.
